BOLKIAH GARRISON, Sunday, 24 December 2023 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) claimed third place and second place in the 16.2km Group Run Men and 12.6km Group Run Women competition respectively as the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) marked its 62nd Anniversary with a Family Day Event held at the Mini Stadium Football Field, Ministry of Defence, Bolkiah Garrison. During this event, a Cycling Expedition, Group Run Championship,
Kayuhan Bersama Keluarga
and a Fun Walk event
was held concurrently.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, RBAF Commander. Also present were Service Commanders, Acting Service Commanders, Acting Deputy Commander, senior officers, officers and personnel of the RBAF as well as the families.
The event followed with the family 12km cycling route led by the RBAF Commander. For this event, the route covered a distance of 62 kilometres, passing several main roads along Brunei-Tutong Highway, meanwhile, the 16.2km and 12.6km group run event, had passed Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas, in the capital and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge. In addition to the main event, several side events took place, such as a 2.6km Fun Walk, Kayuhan Bersama Keluarga, family games, and were also enlivened with food bazaars.
The event was aimed to strengthen ties and goodwill among the family members of RBAF personnel and to instil strong family values. In addition, to encourage a healthier working environment, and well-being of RBAF personnel during the school term break.
